SL fully loaded cylindrical roller bearings are usually composed of a combination of two retaining edges guided by a bearing ring, a cage, rollers, and guide rings, and are generally separable bearings. The characteristic of this type of bearing is that it is easy to install and disassemble, especially when it requires interference fit between the inner and outer rings, shaft, and housing.

The purpose of this type of bearing is generally only to withstand radial loads, and only single row bearings with retaining edges on both inner and outer rings can withstand smaller axial loads or larger intermittent axial loads. Compared with deep groove ball bearings with the same external dimensions, this type of bearing has a larger radial load capacity and is structurally suitable for high-speed rotation.
